How long has your program been in existence?

Adult Day Services at CYO has been in operation for more than 30 years. We were the first program of our kind in Summit County. We have used our experience to expand and grow into a first-class program to meet the ever-changing needs of older adults.

What type of activities do you offer?

Our activities are designed of offer physical, emotional, and spiritual growth. We offer a wide range of options including daily exercise with Geri-Fit*, daily creative arts classes including ceramics, woodworking, and a variety of other crafts, numerous games, community outings, entertainment, discussions on current and historical events, quiet library area with rotating books from the Summit County Public Library, beauty and barber services, daily morning devotions and non-denominational commemorative and seasonal prayer services.

What types of credentials does your staff have?

CYO Adult Day Services employs a dedicated group of caring individuals including Licensed Social Workers, a Registered Nurse LPN, and employees with degrees in Gerentology, Therapeutic Recreation and other related fields. The entire staff receives ongoing training to stay current in the industry.

Is transportation available?

Yes. Transportation can be arranged for interested participants. Fees may vary according to location.

What are the program hours?

Our program is available from 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday and can be customized to fit your needs. Participants may choose to attend only one day or up to all five days. Participants may choose to attend just a few hours per day or attend the whole day. CYO Adult Day Services will work with you to find a balance that best fits your or your loved ones needs.

Do I have to pay a monthly fee?

No, you only pay for the days you attend. You’ll find the cost of Adult Day Services to be a better value that private home care, assisted living or nursing home facilities. Call 330.762.2000 for more details.

Is financial assistance available?

Yes. There is financial assistance for those who qualify. We accept PASSPORT, Care Coordination, Ohio Home Care Waiver, Veteran’s Benefits, and other supportive programs.

Does Medicare cover the cost of the program?

No, but other government and private financial assistance is available for those who qualify. The Social Worker at CYO can provide the details for you. Private insurance may have a provision, long-term care policies are accepted, and some companies, such as Daimler Chrysler, have a provision.

Are you charged if you miss a scheduled day?

No. You are only charged for actual days of attendance.

Is incontinence a barrier to entering the program?

No, incontinence is managed through our nursing services ranging from preventative measures to personal care.

What type of nursing services do you offer?

Nursing Services, based on individualized care plans, include daily health monitoring, blood pressure screening, medication administration, continence care, health education, and experience to address changing needs.

Can you accommodate special dietary considerations?

Yes. Nutritious meals and snacks are prepared by our own on-site chef and monitored by a Licensed Dietician.
